Fall Fontina Sandwich

This Fall Fontina Sandwich combines the sweetness of apples with the creamy richness of Fontina cheese, all nestled between slices of sourdough bread. Its a perfect blend of flavors for a cozy fall meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 8 slices Fontina cheese
  • 1 medium apple, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions:

Spread honey mustard on two slices of sourdough bread

Layer Fontina cheese slices on top of the honey mustard

Place thinly sliced apples over the cheese

Spread mayonnaise on the remaining two slices of sourdough bread and place them on top of the apples to form sandwiches

Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter in it

Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side

Remove from skillet and let cool slightly before serving
